A New Way to Experience Faith at Home: Inside Luxtop’s Quran Corner Launch in Dubai

There are launches and then there are moments that stay with you. We recently attended an intimate cultural evening at Luxtop Home Couture’s Dubai showroom to mark both the brand’s first anniversary and its official showroom opening. But the true highlight of the night was the unveiling of something deeply meaningful: a fully offline, voice-activated Quran Corner, introduced as part of the Ramadan Soul by Luxtop collection.

What immediately stood out was how different this concept felt. This wasn’t designed as a traditional prayer corner tucked away in silence. Instead, Luxtop presented it as a shared family space . It is a place where remembrance becomes part of everyday life, where children learn by listening, and where faith quietly weaves itself into the rhythm of the home.

The technology behind it is impressive, but also intentionally restrained. The Quran Corner operates completely offline  with no internet, no apps, no smart home integrations. With simple voice commands, users can begin or stop recitation or select specific surahs, all without distraction. It’s a thoughtful approach that keeps the focus exactly where it should be: on remembrance, not screens.

Visually, the design is equally considered. Softly illuminated arches inspired by Islamic architecture create a calm, welcoming presence, with each arch acting like a personal mihrab. The technology is almost invisible, seamlessly embedded within the structure, allowing the space to feel timeless rather than technical.

The philosophy behind the collection is beautifully anchored in the ayah:

“So remember Me; I will remember you.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:152)

That message resonated throughout the evening and brought home the idea that faith doesn’t only belong in mosques or special moments, but in homes, in families, and in the quiet spaces we return to every day. As a thrid culture child of parents from Fiji and the UK, I was brought up as a Muslim in the UAE and I wish we had this when I was growing up here and understood more better how my parents learnt prayers in their very different backgorund.

Guests were given early access to reserve pieces from the limited-edition Ramadan Soul collection, with one signature Quran Corner gifted during the evening as a symbolic gesture.

The event also showcased curated Ramadan gifts, the MAJLIS COUTURE – The Seven Expressions collection created with an Italian designer, and the launch of Luxtop Atlas, a beautifully produced cultural journal exploring Ramadan as a way of living.

Founded in 1971, Luxtop Home Couture has long been associated with refined craftsmanship and bespoke interiors. With the Quran Corner, however, the brand introduced something deeper and aimed to create homes where faith, family, and modern living exist in balance. Sometimes, the most meaningful innovations are the quietest ones.
